About Pipereply

Why we built Pipereply

Fifteen-plus years in Australian solar taught us a hard lesson: most installers don't lose jobs on price or workmanship. They lose them in the gap between the enquiry and the follow-up. Pipereply exists to close that gap.

An Australian company with 98% client retention

Our story

It started with watching winnable jobs slip away

Joern Haake spent more than 15 years inside the Australian solar industry - across sales, marketing and business growth. Year after year, the same pattern kept showing up. The crews were excellent. The quotes were competitive. And the sales still leaked out the sides of the business: the 9pm enquiry nobody answered, the proposal that sat unopened for a week, the old quote list nobody ever called back.

The companies losing those jobs didn't need more leads. They were already paying good money for leads. What they needed was to stop wasting the ones they had.

Mick came at the same problem from the other side. A systems integration analyst with a computer science background and a deep focus on large language models, he kept seeing trade businesses run on a stack of disconnected tools - a CRM here, proposal software there, job management somewhere else - with staff re-typing the same job details into each one and follow-up depending entirely on human memory.

Put those two views together and the answer was obvious. Not another app. Not a chatbot bolted onto a broken process. A properly integrated lead-to-sale operating system, built and managed for the business that uses it. That system became Solar AI-Q, and the company behind it is Pipereply.

Founders

Two founders, two halves of the same problem

One knows how solar gets sold in Australia. The other knows how systems get connected. Solar AI-Q is what happens when both work on the same pipeline.

Joern Haake, Pipereply co-founder

Joern Haake

Co-founder - sales and industry

Joern has spent 15+ years in Australian solar across sales, marketing and business growth. He has sat in the sales seat, run the campaigns and grown the businesses - so he knows exactly where enquiries leak, why quotes go quiet and what a follow-up cadence has to look like before it produces installs.

Every system Pipereply builds starts from that sales reality, not from a software feature list. When you book a Strategy Call, Joern is usually the first person you'll speak to.

Mick, Pipereply co-founder

Mick

Co-founder - systems integration

Mick is a systems integration analyst with a computer science background and a focus on large language models. He designs the integrations behind the Solar AI-Q Hub - the layer that keeps your CRM, proposal software, job management and lead sources in sync - and he runs client onboarding personally.

If Joern maps what your business needs, Mick is the one who builds it, connects it and makes sure it keeps running.

Philosophy

Integration first. Automation second. AI on top.

Most tools get this order backwards - they start with AI and hope the data sorts itself out. We build in the opposite direction, because the order is what makes the results stick.

1. Integration first

Before anything gets automated, your tools have to talk to each other. We connect your lead sources, your proposal software (OpenSolar or Pylon), your job management (Simpro, AroFlo or ServiceM8), Stripe and Xero into one pipeline. One entry. Everywhere updated. See all integrations

2. Automation second

Once the data flows, follow-up stops depending on memory. A proposal viewed at 8pm triggers the next step automatically. A won job flows into job management without re-typing. The boring, revenue-critical work happens every time, on time.

3. AI on top

Only then do the AI agents come in - answering enquiries in seconds, booking appointments and chasing quotes with full context from your connected systems. AI on integrated data acts like a sales team. AI on disconnected data is just a chatbot.

Under it all sits the Solar AI-Q Hub, our proprietary integration layer: event-driven architecture, real-time webhooks, retry-first mechanisms, encrypted credential storage and per-client isolation, with audit-ready logging on every sync. That is not marketing language - it is why the follow-up engine keeps working when a single-tool bot would quietly drop the ball.

The SWaS promise

Not SaaS. SWaS - software with a service

We don't hand you a login and a video course and wish you luck. We build the system, connect it to your tools, tune the agents on your offers and your tone, and keep improving it month after month.

  • Structured onboarding sessions run personally by Mick, plus back-end build and customisation hours by our team - the exact mix depends on your package
  • Every AI agent set up, tuned and managed for you - trained on your pricing, your offers and the way you speak to customers
  • Support identical in every package: a dedicated Slack channel, a video and guide library, and weekly group training
  • No lock-in contracts. We would rather keep you with results than with paperwork - which is how we hold 98% client retention
Why installers trust us

Built for Australian trades, proven with Australian installers

Pipereply is an Australian company building for Australian conditions: the lead providers installers actually use, like SolarQuotes, the proposal tools they already run, and the plain-talking follow-up style that suits a trade business rather than a call centre.

Solar and battery installers are our specialty, and the same engine works for electrical contractors, HVAC businesses and general trades and home services. One named client, G-Solar, cut admin workload by 40-50% and grew sales 20-30% within approximately six months - through structured automation and integrated systems, not hype-driven tools. Results vary by business, but the pattern is consistent - answer faster, follow up harder, and the same lead flow produces more installs. Read the G-Solar story

FAQ

Questions people ask about Pipereply

Who actually builds and runs the system?

We do. Mick designs the integrations and runs onboarding personally, and our team handles the back-end build and customisation. Your staff get trained on how to use the system, not how to build it. That is the SWaS difference - software with a service.

Is Pipereply an Australian company?

Yes. Pipereply is an Australian company, and Solar AI-Q is built specifically for Australian solar and battery installers - including the lead providers, proposal tools and job management software used here, like SolarQuotes, OpenSolar, Pylon, Simpro, AroFlo and ServiceM8.

Do you only work with solar companies?

Solar and battery installers are our specialty, but the same lead-to-sale engine serves electrical contractors, HVAC and air conditioning businesses, and general trades and home services. If your business runs on enquiries, quotes and jobs, it fits.

What does integration-first mean in practice?

It means we connect your existing tools before we automate anything, and we automate before we add AI. Your lead sources, proposal software, job management, payments and accounting flow into one pipeline, so every automation and every AI agent works with complete, current data. One entry. Everywhere updated.

Can we talk to a founder before committing to anything?

Yes - that is the default. Every Strategy Call is run by Joern or Mick, not a sales rep. We will map your current lead flow, show you where enquiries are leaking and tell you honestly whether Solar AI-Q fits your business. No pressure, no obligation.
